Biography

Minister of Health and Social Protection of Albania, Ogerta Manastirliu was born on December 31, 1978 in the city of Tirana.  Minister Manastirliu has graduated from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Natural Sciences. She holds the title Doctor of Sciences in Analytical Chemistry and Environment.

Minister Manastirliu was engaged as external lecturer in the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

She was launched in her professional career in the Municipality of Tirana, initially working under the Project Coordination Directorate.

During 2005-2011, Mrs. Manastirliu was Head of the Directorate of Housing and Social Services where she was one of the lead drafters of the Local Strategy on Social Housing.

In the course of 2011-2013 she was appointed Expert for managing and coordinating social policies and human resources for different local and international organizations, such as UNFPA, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung etc.

During September 2013- March 2017, Mrs. Manastirliu was General Manager of Mother Teresa University Hospital Center.

Mrs. Manastirliu held the post of the Minister of Health and Social Protection in the course of 2017-2021.

Mrs. Manastirliu is fluent in English and Italian.
